Rest in Peace - Dr Robert Webber (1933-2007)

Dr Robert Webber (1933-2007) (picture taken from AEFCall) passed away on Friday, 27 April 2007 after a 8-month fight against Pancreatic cancer. I first heard him at Regent College's Pastors' Conference in 2005. I remember him as a passionate speaker. That year's conference was certainly one of the best conferences I have attended at Regent. The whole theme of worship was woven very powerfully by each and every person, and I can still remember the tears of worship by many pastors. So many adult pastors cried in gratitude to God.

One of his memorable teachings was to learn to seek God not as an object but as subject. For that to happen, time is needed to build depth. I have been blest by his books and ministry. May his soul rest in God and may his family rejoice that he has indeed gone to a better place. In the meantime, it is appropriate to weep and to grieve as we will miss very much a dear brother in Christ.
